Pink Sky In The Morning

Hey Look A Windmill

Those of you that know me know that I'm of the easily amused breed of humans. That's why today when I spied this windmill from my parking spot at Macy's in Westmoreland Mall, I had to pop out the camera.

Poinsettias

These are the plants that everyone seems to acquire at Christmas and kill 2 months later. Why? Poinsettias are a desert plant and they don't usually thrive in the chillier climates.

Oogie & The Christmas Tree

It was an odd Christmas this year. My Misty kitty succumbed to Leukemia the Saturday before the holiday and my sister Deb was in an accident the Wednesday before, spending 4 days in the hospital. She came home on Christmas Eve to spend the next 2 months with us in a hospital bed and wheelchair. Hopefully in those 2 months she'll be up and around and as close to normal as she can be.

That alone should make the holiday and New Year a bit crazy. OK a lot crazy.

Thankfully this little kitty kept smiles on our faces this weekend.

The dogs however spent most of the last few days trying to eat whatever table scraps they could find.

Festive Lights

Oh look pictures I wasn't allowed to take at Mon Valley Hospital. I thought seeing the pretty lights would make my sister happy. Big sis is in the hospital care of a nasty mishap on her way to work yesterday.

Festive Charleroi (PA that is)

Our town is trying to get in the spirit, however our tree has a tilt and our street decorations are wreaths and snowflakes. PAH. Not very Christmasy, but hey, they gave it the old college try, right?

More Photos From Phipps

This is proof that there's more to Phipps right now than just pretty trees and poinsettias.

More Trees @ Phipps

I was really impressed by all he beautiful trees at the Winter Flower Show this year. The ornaments and colors were just marvelous. Anyone that has the chance to go definitely should.

Next year I'm going to become a full member, rather than existing on the kindness of my sister.

Phipps Winter Flower Show

The crowning glory of the Winter Show was the giant tree in the main room. It used to house the garden railroad, but this winter it had the most spectacular tree I've ever seen, surrounded by orchids and bushes shaped like elephants carrying tree ornaments along.

Mr. Blue Sky

These past few days have been so beautiful and warm, very unseasonable for December in PA.

Look at the beautiful sky.

Pittsburgh After Dark

I was fiddling with my camera again, trying to get a night shot without a damn tripod. I refuse to buy one. It's ridiculous!

I'm rather amused by the artsy-ness of this one.

This one was taken with the sport setting. Pittsburgh needs to illuminate better damn it!

Sunrise

I've been practicing shots of the sunrise. For some reason it's not an easy task on my Kodak Easyshare. This is my latest attempt.
