Hump Day Hunt - Week 19

Water Water everywhere....This week's word is:
River

I took a lot of pictures of the Three Rivers...but the Mon is the only one I can safely identify now that I'm home!

That's the Fort Pitt Bridge and Hell's Amphitheater...erm...Chevrolet Amphitheater in the background

The Bridges Of Pittsburgh

This passed trip to the city saw me taking some pictures of bridges I don't usually photograph.

The Fort Pitt Bridge

The Fort Dusquene Bridge (I actually walked across that one on one of my jaunts to the city)

The Liberty Bridge is one of the 2 bridges pictured here. I'm not sure what the name of the other one is.

My favorite bridge in the city, The Smithfield Street Bridge, which has more graffiti on it than it should, which is a shame.

Triplets! The first of the three identicle bridges in this shot is the Clemente Bridge, which leads to PNC Park.

Pittsburgh...Pittsburgh and more Pittsburgh

Here are a few pictures from my outing with the nephews (read: bratlings) today. The sun was shining, and the sky was blue. I can't ask for much more than that in Pittsburgh.

The Beauty of Mingo

My nephew had to see the covered bridges at Mingo Park since the last time I went, I didn't take him. I however forced him to walk from one bridge to the other, much to his chagrin. Two and a half miles were just too much for him when all he had to look at was the creek and some trees. What a wuss!

He certainly doesn't do well with nature walks. I love them. I love walking, and I'd do more of it, if the state of the roads in Charleroi were a bit better. As it is, every hill and street is ripped to high heaven for the new water lines. PAH!

Hump Day Hunt - Week 18

From the Fotopherrets, the word of the week is "bridge"

I love bridges. In my photo folders you'll find many. I'm posting 2 pictures today. Both were taken this past Sunday. One is of the Suspension Bridge in Wheeling, WV, which is one of my favorite bridges and the other is of the The Leatherman Bridge in Washington County, a very difficult to find Covered Bridge.

This one was taken while I was walking across the bridge, much to the chagrin of the other fotopherret walking with me.

Pretty Trees

I'm a sucker for a pretty tree in bloom.

But that's kind of obvious, isn't it?

Birds, Birds, and more Birds

For the most part birds get very annoyed when you try to photograph them. I like to annoy birds as much as possible by doing my best to get as many pictures as I can of their feathered highnesses.

Here are my shots from Wheeling today. The robins were rather cooperative for once.

Driving Through The Country

My nephew wanted to see a covered bridge. He wasn't particularly happy with my sister and I when we went to Mingo without him last week. So coming home from Washington today, I took the Kammerer (try saying that five times fast..hell try saying that once) Exit and went down to The Wright Bridge.

But before we got to the bridge, there was a farm with little donkeys and llamas, and horses. Let's just say a lot of cars passed us, wondering if we had taken our meds today. But I did get some cute animal shots.

The Things You See While You're Walking Down The Street

I took a walk with my camera today. (I know, how exciting) Here's what I saw along the way.

There were just so many beautiful trees in bloom and flowers, that I couldn't resist snapping some shots
