The Things You See While You're Walking Down The Street

I took a walk with my camera today. (I know, how exciting) Here's what I saw along the way.

There were just so many beautiful trees in bloom and flowers, that I couldn't resist snapping some shots

Hump Day Hunt

The word of the week at Fotopherrets is Blossom.

What an easy word!

The blossom is from this lovely tree that can be found in the Japanese garden at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh.

I was very partial to this tree. I took about 5 pictures of it in varying locations.

Backyard Beauty

Sometimes there's beauty to be found in the places that you see everyday. This year our tulips and daffodils were particularly gorgeous.

Our yard may not be as picturesque as some, but the flowers in it are vibrant and lovely.

Favorite 5 Photos

I've been bad at participating in this photomeme, but since the weather has improved and I actually feel like pulling my camera out I think I can find 5 photos this month that I consider favorites.

Here they are:

Lilies at Phipps.

A landscape of the Youghiogheny River

Mingo Creek at twilight.

One of my many shots of the Cucumber Falls at Ohiopyle State Park.

My favorite building in Pittsburgh, The Cathedral of Learning

He Is Risen

Have a blessed Easter!

The Bridges Of Mingo Creek Park

There are 2 covered bridges in Mingo Park. Today I got to snap a few shots of both The Henry and The Ebenezer bridges as well as the creek.

Picturesque Trees

There was something extremely captivating about the trees in these 2 photos. I'm not sure what it was, but I seemed to capture it nicely.

Bridges in Ohiopyle

Ok, its a given, I love water, but I'm also a fan of bridges. I'm sure there's a 12 step program that will help me but until then....here are some pictures.

The Cucumber Falls

I went to Ohiopyle State Park today and I got the surprise of my life. The Cucumber Falls had undergone a transformation. A transformation caused by a very wet few weeks.

The Rest of The Roars!

The Green Monster

The Painted Pittsburgh Pachyderm.

The Monongahela Monster! (Funny that doesn't look at all like that ride from Kennywood that I used to love)

The Lionfish Out Of Water.

Houndstooth the Squirrel (aka Justin! Cos I call all Squirrels Justin, but that's a long story)

OK, I can't remember the exact names of these two inflatables. All I know is that they deal with steel and zombies.

Pittsburgh Roars

Or so they'd like us to believe. The best part of Pittsburgh roaring, is that they have these lovely inflatable things in Oakland right now. They will make their way through the city during the year. After all, Oakland isn't the only part of the city that can make some noise.

See look! It's roaring! Or rather growling!

Fotopherrets

It's time for the Hump Day Hunt from Fotopherrets.

The word of the week is: Green

When we were in Pittsburgh on Sunday, we walked behind the Carnegie Museum of Modern Art and through the window you could see some of the displays. I was able to snap this shot of some glass objects. I don't think you can get much greener than the the bowl and vase in this shot.
