Oakland!

In Pittsburgh's Oakland disctrict, there are many colorful and amusing sites.



The "O". One of the best places to get cheap food in Pittsburgh!



Kings Court, now vacant, but one of the more colorful buildings in the area.




The Cathedral of Learning is featured in both of these shots, as well as the Pitt Towers which look suspiciously like thermos bottles gracing the sky.



Joe Mama's Italian Deli, not to be confused with Yo Mama's House which is in Monessen.




A very cute Mexican restaurant on Forbes.

Orchids

The orchids were exceptionally lovely this time. I think I saw some different blooms, which is odd. The orchid room is one of two rooms that never really change much.

Tulips!

The spring flower show at Phipps was all about Tulips. Tulips in every color under the sun and in every size as well.

Here are a few of the beautiful flowers I saw today. I took over 200 pictures today, so there will be lots more in the days to come.

These little bobble head dolls were on display at Perkins last Sunday. It was hard not to get the reflection of my camera in the shots, but a few of them came out ok.

Lots of sweet treats can be bought here. Only about a month or so and Idlewild will be open for business and I'll be able to consume some of those treats!

This was hanging up above the salad bar at Lorraine's Restaurant where I had dinner yesterday. I took two shots of it, and I think the employees thought I was nuts. Little do they know they were right!

The Houses On The Island

The homes near the Wheeling Island casino are all gorgeous, big, beautiful Victorian type houses. Some of them are painted brilliant colors as well.



And if you look very closely at this house, you'll see that someone didn't feel like taking down their Christmas lights!

On The Banks Of The Ohio

Isn't that an Olivia Newton-John song? I think so. Either way I thought of that song as I was snapping these shots in Wheeling, WV last weekend.
