Flowers From Walmart

I fell in love with these blooms at Walmart on Friday night, and I just had to have them. The bouquet was only $3.88. Not a bad deal, and they are quite unique.

My camera is still threatening to run away from home if I don't get any new subject matter.

Cats Cats and More Cats

Oogie and Misty are becoming the only things that I take photos of anymore. This has been a long cold lonely winter.

My camera is threatening to run away from home if I don't find some new subject matter pretty darn soon.

One Of My Favorite Bridges At Night

The Smithfield Street Bridge in Pittsburgh is unique in it's beauty. It's also unique in the fact that it's one of only 2 or 3 bridges that I can walk across without getting sick.

I took this photo in November. I'm still practicing with the night setting on my camera. This is probably the best shot I got of the city after dark.

Maybe with a little more practice I'll get the perfect nighttime shot. Until then, this is as close as I can get.

Ups and Downs

One of the inclines in Pittsburgh. I've only had the guts to ride one of these once. I'm not particularly thrilled to be scaling Mt. Washington in a tiny little car like these.

Maybe I'm just a big chicken, but riding these things makes me a bit queasy.

Hump Day Hunt

The Foto Pherrets want a Work photo this week.

Hmm.

I may not be working, but these two people were working at Idlewild park last summer and they begged me to take their picture. Who am I to deny a person their request?

Now I wish it were summer so I could go back to Idlewild and enjoy the rides and the food.

~sigh~

Orchids At Phipps

I'm always astounded by how beautiful the orchids are at Phipps Conservatory. I didn't post a lot of pictures of the Winter Flower show, as I wasn't impressed by it. It was cute, but it lacked something that always seemed to be there.

I was looking over the photos again today and realized that though the holiday part of the show wasn't as good as some of the shows in the past, there were still some beautiful flowers that deserve being shared.

Here are a few of them.

Color

Foto Pherrets wants a colorful picture this week. Sadly it's not been a very colorful few weeks, so I had to go digging into my photo archives to find something to fit the bill.

I think this photo from Atlantic City more than fits the bill. Every color in the rainbow is represented here.

Favorite 5 Photos

It's a new photo meme. Where you post your favorite 5 photos for the month.

These are mine.

Some are pictures of favorite things some are just my favorite pictures from the last month

My favorite ornament. My Moody Blues December ornament made for me by another fan a few years back.

A very yummy cocktail from Redd Dawg's All Star Clubhouse. Not my favorite drinky poo, but one of the prettiest I've had this year! (Of course, it's only January!)

These are two photos of our church. Both have been posted here before, but I can't help but post them again. Our church looked lovely for the holiday.

One of Mr. Blue Sky's rare appearances in the last week. Who doesn't love a beautiful blue sky?

Silly Dog

This is my boss' dog Buster. I had to work out of his house for a few days a week ago, and I got to know this playful pooch.

The dog's not the brightest crayon in the box, but he's really sweet.

Cold

It had to be cold to create this right?

Right?

Right!

I'm still wondering how this snow monstrosity came to be. We never had more than 3 or 4 inches of snow at one time this year.

This was taken on the Smithfield Street Bridge a little over a month and a half ago.

Remembering Christmas

There were so many beautiful decorations about this year. I wanted to make one last post to share some of the photos I took over the holiday season. It's such a shame that magic of Christmas has to fade so quickly.

My Silly Kitty

Oogie has these two plastic cubes that my nephew, Michael, bought for him to play in. Oddly the kitten and one of my other cats, Misty, loves to play in them. It was quite hard to get a few shots while the kitten was inside, but these turned out quite cute, doncha think?

Seen While Walking

I'm glad I had my camera phone with me the last time I went on a little walk across the hill, because if I didn't I would have missed out on snapping a picture of this:

I didn't do my usual walk across the hill to photograph the splendor of the holiday lights this year, so this is my only picture of the decorations in my town.

I think the statues are so cute!

Beginnings

That's the word of the week at Foto Pherrets.

This is the beginning of a beautiful rose. This photo was snapped by me on my visit to the Palace Of Gold in WV last summer, where there's beauty as far as the eye can see.

The Ever Growing Oogie

My kitten is getting so big. He's about 5 months old now and he's almost as big as our smallest cat, Itchy.

The good thing is that just because he's going up, he's still cute as a button.

Mary, Mother Of The Church

Finally, I took some photos that came out. Our church looked beautiful this year. The pictures that I took after last night's mass turned out far better than the ones that I took Christmas morning.
